Chelsea in agreement with an agent on £67m over a star like Cristiano Ronaldo
Chelsea is in agreement with an agent on £67m over a star like Cristiano Ronaldo… Mino Raiola has reportedly been in conversation with Chelsea regarding the potential transfer of Matthijs de Ligt.
According to Calciomercato, several clubs including the Blues have spoken with Raiola recently about possibly signing De Ligt in the near future.
The celebrity agent is apparently fearful for his client’s value, as his status with Juventus and the Dutch national team continues to slide.
De Ligt’s only appearance for Holland since the European Championships arrived last month, a routine 4-0 victory over Montenegro.
In the three follow-up World Cup qualifiers, the defender has sat on the substitutes’ bench.
He also failed to feature in Juve’s latest Serie A fixture, yesterday’s important 1-0 win against Roma.

Before Sunday’s significant success, the 22-year-old had started five of the first seven league matches.
He also featured in the two Champions League triumphs, including the conquest over Chelsea in Turin.
However, the longer De Ligt remains on the sidelines, the greater his stock decreases.
Hence his desire to seemingly sniff out a few budding suitors for the Dutch international, including Thomas Tuchel’s employers.
Chelsea is still supposedly on the market for another center-back, with discussions about Jules Kounde continuing to rumble on.
They might need to replace Antonio Rudiger in January if negotiations over a new contract fail to be finalized.
Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Andreas Christensen are also deep into the final 12 months of their deals.
Despite his unsecured position, De Ligt is still a highly talented player with years of growth ahead of him.
“The value of De Ligt is not in dispute,” said Ajax’s CEO Edwin Van de Sar, the club Juve bought De Ligt from for £67.8m (Sky Sports).
“He is a top player and has a great mentality: he works hard to improve.
“I haven’t seen him in training for two and a half years, but I assure you that when he played with us as a spirit he always reminded me of the young Cristiano Ronaldo I had as a partner at Manchester United.”
