Comparison between Argentina and Portugal World Cup Qatar Squad, Which One Might Win 2022 World Cup?

The World Cup tournament 2022 in Qatar will be starting this coming Sunday 20th November. It is highly anticipated since it will be the last one for both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, players who have been regarded as the best in the world in the last two decades. Many football fans are backing Argentina or Portugal to win it depending on the player you support.

Argentina seems to be better than Portugal. They have a balanced squad and have enough experience in this tournament. Argentina won two World Cups in 1978 and 1986 and has been runners-up three times: in 1930, 1990, and 2014. They are the current Copa America champions which they won unbeaten and are currently in form. They are 35 games unbeaten.

On the other hand, Portugal has never won it. The best they have ever achieved is third place, in 1966. Also, the Portuguese have failed to get past the Round of 16 stages at the World Cup since 2006 and they bowed out at the first knockout stage at Euro 2020. Argentina will face Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Poland in the group stage. Portugal will face Ghana, Uruguay, and South Korea in the group stage.
