Good news this afternoon, Chelsea finally announced their latest signing of the summer
Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Wesley Fofana from Leicester City for a record £75 million. The French international defender joins Chelsea on a six year contract, and is expected to go straight into the first team with the likes of Thiago Silva and Koulibaly.
It was a long process of negotiations between Chelsea and Leicester City, as the club refused to sell to Chelsea at the beginning of the summer. However, their stance changed after the player failed to come for some training sessions and literally forced a moved to Stamford bridge. He is an exciting talent, as he is a strong tackler and a very good athlete at carrying the ball.
Fofana would slot in perfectly at the back for Chelsea, and it makes so much sense for Chelsea as he can play either in a back three or back four. I can’t wait to see what he brings to the West London club this season.
