Mikel Arteta speaks on what exactly made Liverpool defeat Arsenal… Arsenal’s Boss, Mikel Arteta has revealed why Arsenal suffered a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday at Anfield.
The 10 games unbeaten run enjoyed by the North London outfit was put to an end in the Saturday game.
Meanwhile, a win would have handed Arsenal an opportunity to go ahead of the Merseyside outfit on the log with a point.
Mikel Arteta has now claimed that his side suffered a defeat because they threw it away against the Reds.
According to a report, Arsenal Boss, Mikel Arteta said:
“We competed really well in the first half – they had their moments, we had our moments.
“We were really compact and used the ball in the right way to create some situations. We had a goal disallowed and then we conceded a goal from a set-play. In the second half, when we had to build some momentum and start to grow [into] the match, we threw it away in the first 15 to 20 minutes.
“We gave every ball away in very dangerous areas. We had no pressure. They punished us, we lost control of the game and they had all the momentum.”
The defeat proved that the Gunners are still inexperienced and will have to do more to be able to return to European football but it starts with bouncing back in their next game.
