As Arsenal will resume their actions back in the premier league, PL, against Manchester United at Emirates, Paul Merson has revealed his possible prediction over the match between Arsenal vs Manchester United.
Former Arsenal player, Paul Merson, has predicted some of the midweek English Premier League matches.
Manchester United will host Arsenal at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Chelsea will tackle Watford in an away Premier League tie on Wednesday night.
Everton will host Liverpool at Goodison Park on Wednesday night, while Manchester City will face Aston Villa.
Providing his predictions, Merson told Sportskeeda, “This is a dangerous game for Chelsea. Claudio Ranieri is not under much pressure at Watford.
“It’s only a matter of time before Chelsea go back to steamrolling opponents, and I would back them to win this match. Watford 1, Chelsea 3.”
Commenting on the Everton vs Liverpool game, Merson said, “I can honestly see only one winner here. If you are an Everton fan, you are probably hoping that this game doesn’t get out of hand.
“Liverpool have far too much quality for Everton and should be able to win this Premier League match. Everton 0, Liverpool 3.”
Speaking on the Manchester United vs Arsenal tie, Merson said, “This is another huge football match.
“Arsenal are back to beating the teams they should beat and got a good result against Newcastle.
“United haven’t become a good team overnight. Carrick will take a chance against Arsenal – I’d be shocked if Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo don’t start.
“They aren’t very good defensively, however, and can’t afford to be too open against Arsenal. I reckon both teams would be pretty happy with a draw this week. Manchester United 1, Arsenal 1.”
On the Aston Villa vs Manchester City clash, Merson said, “Villa will sit back and defend. They’ll close City down and plug pockets of space.
“The longer this game goes on, the more Aston Villa will back themselves.
“If Manchester City turn up and play well, however, they win.
“Aston Villa will need a slice of luck here, but I don’t see how they can stop Manchester City. Aston Villa 1, Manchester City 2.”
