There were some super strikes again last month for the Blues and you can find out more about the 10 nominated efforts below

Mateo Kovacic vs Liverpool

The Croatian produced a spectacular volley to launch our fightback against the Reds at Stamford Bridge. With a few minutes left until half-time and the visitors ahead by two, the midfielder acted instinctively to loop an effort over a crowded penalty box and in off the right-hand post.

Christian Pulisic vs Liverpool

Latching onto N’Golo Kante’s hooked pass over the top, Pulisic found himself one-on-one with Reds keeper Caoimhin Kelleher and did not disappoint, taking a touch on his chest to control the bouncing ball before rifling a shot high into the net to draw us level and send the Bridge into raptures.

George McEachran vs Leicester City

The first of two goals from the Development Squad’s 5-0 thrashing of Leicester to be nominated. McEachran made something out of nothing when Ben Elliott’s corner came in low, short of the near post. The midfielder showed great improvisation to lob the goalkeeper with an outrageous flick that dropped in at the far post from an impossible angle.

Ben Elliot vs Leicester City

Elliot completed the 5-0 rout in the Development Squad’s first match of 2022 with a 90th-minute strike which was all of his own making. After winning the ball with a strong challenge in midfield, he strode forward purposefully into the space provided before sweeping in a low shot from the edge of the box.

Callum Hudson-Odoi vs Chesterfield

The 21-year-old grabbed the pick of our five goals in a big FA Cup third-round victory and it was textbook Hudson-Odoi, drifting infield from the left wing before unleashing a brilliant curling strike into the bottom far corner.

Jayden Wareham vs Arsenal

It may have been in a losing cause as our Development Squad were eliminated from the EFL Trophy in the last 16, but Wareham’s equaliser briefly gave the 10-man Blues hope. Joe Haigh won possession by pressing high up the pitch, allowing Wareham to charge forward on the counter, jinking to open up space for the shot and coolly placing his finish in the bottom corner.

Pernille Harder vs West Ham United

The first of Chelsea Women’s two victories over West Ham in January, this time in the Continental Tyres Cup, was all about Harder’s hat-trick, but her third owed a lot to Jonna Andersson’s brilliant cross from deep to find the Dane in space at the back post, allowing her to place a calm header across goal and past the stranded goalkeeper.

Hakim Ziyech vs Tottenham Hotspur

Ziyech had never previously scored in the Premier League at the Bridge but got his first in some style, curling a perfect shot from outside the box which dipped just in time to creep inside the angle of post and crossbar. It left Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris rooted to the spot to break the derby deadlock.

Erin Cuthbert vs West Ham United

Having already made the first of our two goals in this WSL win over the Hammers, Cuthbert scored the second herself. Fran Kirby did well with her run across the edge of the box, but there was still plenty for the Scottish international to do, as she struck a first-time shot low into the far corner.

Guro Reiten vs Aston Villa

The first of Reiten’s two goals in this Women’s FA Cup fourth-round victory was all about the first touch. She was closely marked when the low cross came into the box, but her brilliant control left the defender wrong-footed, allowing her to swivel and fire a left-footed effort into the bottom corner.
