Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare this summer. The Blues are keen on pursuing a new defensive midfielder this summer with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho showing signs of regression.
They have been linked with Adrien Rabiot in recent weeks, but Sky Sports claim that Sangare has now emerged as the prime target.
The Ivorian had a sensational 2021/22 campaign for PSV, registering an impressive tally of 3.3 tackles and 2.9 interceptions per game.
The 24-year-old was likewise impressive in the European competitions, and he could be seen as a long-term replacement for Kante.
Sangare currently has a €35m release clause on his contract, and it is claimed that he is determined to play in the Premier League next term.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have been touted to sign him, but they could face direct competition from Manchester United for his signature. The Red Devils can’t offer him Champions League football unlike Chelsea, but he has better chances of starting for them over the Blues.
