UCL: Three Chelsea Stars Who Should Start Against AC Milan Tonight
Chelsea will be back in action in the UEFA Champions League tonight as they take on Serie A side AC Milan at the San Siro. The English Premier League side won the first leg 3-0 at Stamford Bridge last week with goals from Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James.
Chelsea needs all three points against the Serie A side but can only achieve that if Graham Potter can field the right starting eleven. The English manager confirmed that N’golo Kante suffered a hamstring injury setback ahead of the tie.
Here are the three players who should start against AC Milan tonight.
1 Reece James
The England defender had a great game against the Rosanerris the last time out. He was able to keep out Rafael Leao and also contributed immensely to the Chelsea attack.
James scored and provided an assist in the first leg, he was also named the man of the match. He played the last 18 minutes in Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend and looked refreshed for tonight’s clash.
2 Thiago Silva
The Brazil international was rested for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, and he is ready for a return to San Siro tonight. With the injury to Wesley Fofana, the former Paris Saint-Germain could form an effective back duo with Kalidou Koulibaly.
3 Conor Gallagher
Since the arrival of Graham Potter, Gallagher has been proving critics wrong about his decision to stay at the Bridge this season, opting against another loan move.
