What Mikel Arteta should do, as Arsenal’s key player injury ahead of Liverpool game… Latest Arsenal news today, Latest news as it breaks from Emirate, Arsenal news today, Arsenal transfer news today, Arsenal gossip and rumor.

Arsenal has been given a huge injury boost ahead of this weekend’s trip to Liverpool with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang taking part in full training on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old gave Arsenal a major scare after missing Gabon’s World Cup qualifying defeat to Egypt on Tuesday night. After the game, it was claimed by a teammate that Aubameyang had been forced to miss the match due to injury.

The striker was sent back to London early from international duty which lead to reports that Mikel Arteta was left sweating over his skippers’ fitness ahead of Arsenal’s huge Premier League clash with Liverpool this weekend.

However, it appears there was nothing to worry about as Goal journalist Charles Watts has played down fears over Aubameyang’s supposed injury. Watts said on Twitter today that Aubameyang took part in training at London Colney on Wednesday and his early return from international duty was in fact pre-planned.

The Goal reporter claims that Aubameyang is fully fit and available for Arsenal’s trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool on Saturday evening. He said on Twitter:

Aubameyang is back training today at London Colney as normal. His early return from international duty was pre-planned with Gabon. No injury or anything like that. He’s fine for Saturday. said, Charles Watts

So it appears Aubameyang’s early return to London Colney from Gabon was pre-planned, or perhaps Arsenal has played down a minor knock that he picked up while away on international duty. Either way, it’s good news that Aubameyang will be fit to face Liverpool this weekend.

We’ll already be without Granit Xhaka as he’s continuing his recovery from a knee injury while Thomas Partey remains a doubt this weekend due to a groin injury that’s hampered him this month so the last thing Arsenal needed was to lose another key player.

The Gunners head to Merseyside this weekend off the back of a 10-game unbeaten run in all competitions so the lads will be confident of picking up a positive result against Liverpool – especially as the hosts come into the game having lost to West Ham last time out.

A win on Saturday may be unlikely given our recent form against Jurgen Klopp’s side but victory at Anfield would see us leapfrog Liverpool into the top four so this is an opportunity for the Arsenal squad to make a real statement.
