Why Arsenal should sell these four players in the January transfer window

Why Arsenal should sell these four players in the January transfer window… The January transfer window is fast approaching and Arsenal is set to be active in the market.

Mikel Arteta could do with one or two new signings but that means players that are surplus to the requirement will have to be offloaded to recoup transfer fees and balance the books.

Here is a look at four players who could be sold in January.

Bernd Leno

Leno has lost his place to Aaron Ramsdale as Arsenal’s no.1 and his game time has been reduced to Carabao cup matches.

The Germany international will definitely not want to stay in north London as a backup goalie and is expected to leave once the transfer window opens.

Leno previously said he was focused at Arsenal but admitted he’d think about his future in January if his situation didn’t change.

Sead Kolasinac

It is a little surprising that Sead Kolasinac is still an Arsenal player. Arsenal missed out on selling him in the summer but will definitely get him off their books in January.

The Bosnian left-back became surplus to requirement after the arrival of Nuno Tavares and with his contract expiring next summer he could be released or sold.

Mohamed Elneny

Elneny’s move away from Arsenal collapsed in the summer over wage demands with Besiktas however, teams in Turkey have remained interested in his services.

The 29-year-old midfielder is bottom of the pecking with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ainsley Maitland-Niles preferred in the absence of Granit Xhaka.

Eddie Nketiah

Nketiah is another player in the final year of his contract and there is no sign that he will be extending his stay beyond next summer.

The 22-year-old striker has netted in Carabao cup games against Wimbledon and Leeds but hasn’t found a way of getting into Arteta’s first-team squad.

Arsenal will look to cash in on the England U21 striker in January rather than losing him for free in the summer.
